Compatibility
- Works with Midas MR18 and Behringer XR18 / X18.
- MR12, XR12 and XR16 are planned for a later version.
- Requires an iPad with iPadOS 16 or later. There is no iPhone version.
- Stejna Mix connects to the mixer over Wi-Fi and does not need the internet.
Questions
How do I install the beta?
Stejna Mix is in beta on Apple's TestFlight while it waits for the App Store.
- On your iPad, install TestFlight from the App Store. It's free, from Apple.
- Open your Stejna Mix invitation link or email on the iPad.
- Tap Accept, then Install. Stejna Mix appears on your Home Screen.
New builds appear in TestFlight; turn on Automatic Updates there to get them by themselves. Each beta build stops working 90 days after it was released, so keep it up to date.
How do I send feedback from the beta?
Take a screenshot while using Stejna Mix and tap Share Beta Feedback, or open TestFlight, choose Stejna Mix and tap Send Beta Feedback. Email works too.
Stejna Mix doesn't find my mixer
- Same network. The iPad and the mixer must be on the same Wi-Fi network: either join the iPad to the mixer's own Wi-Fi, or connect the mixer to the same router as the iPad, by cable or Wi-Fi.
- Local Network permission. Stejna Mix needs it to find and control the mixer (see below).
- Guest and venue Wi-Fi often stop devices from seeing each other. Use the mixer's own Wi-Fi or your own router.
- VPNs can block traffic on the local network. Try again with the VPN off.
Once connected, Stejna Mix finds the mixer by itself. If the Wi-Fi drops, a banner says so and the app reconnects automatically.
What is the Local Network permission?
The first time you open Stejna Mix, iPadOS asks whether it may find and connect to devices on your local network. Tap Allow: that is how the app reaches your mixer. It doesn't connect to anything else.
If you tapped Don't Allow, open Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and turn on Stejna Mix. Then close Stejna Mix (swipe it away in the app switcher) and open it again.
Can I open my existing scene files?
Yes. Scene files saved by M-AIR Edit open directly in Stejna Mix. Put them in the Files app on your iPad (or in iCloud Drive) and load them from Stejna Mix. You see exactly what will change before anything is written.
Does Stejna Mix collect any data?
No. It talks only to your mixer on your local network. See the privacy policy.
Is Stejna Mix made by Midas or Behringer?
No. Stejna Mix is an independent app by Stejna Audio, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Midas, Behringer or Music Tribe.
